The kind of plough in the background is a farm implement which peasants are still using in many Chinese rural areas. It appeared in as early as the Tang Dynasty . The efficiency of plough depends on the power of the cattle which is ten times that of a strong manpower. A cattle with average power can plow an area of 10 mu  (1/15 of a hectare) or more.

The most of the Chinese population live in the rural area, and is the most ignored group. Facing the field with the sun shining on their back, the peasants cultivate the fields diligently and silently from generation to generation, without complaints and sighs.
